directNIC blog from Downtown New Orleans
A VERY compelling eyewitness account journall of a few of directNIC's employees, who have remained at their downtown New Orleans datacenter (now nicknamed Camp Crystal) throughout the storm to keep the thousands of domains and websites they serve online! Internet Datacenters are build to withstand natural disasters, so while these guys are in no immediate danger in that way, they do face great difficulties in keeping the diesel generators with enough fuel to keep running, as well as the danger going out on the street to wait for supply convoys. This blog is updated several times a day, and is a fantastic eyewitness account of what is going on in New Orleans, from the inside. Includes a live webcam feed from inside the datacenter. You guys are doing a GREAT JOB !!!
