Hurricane Katrina Thriller to star 50 Cent
Friday, November 03, 2006
Rapper 50 Cent and veteran silver screen star Robert De Niro are in final negotiations with producer Tim Hunter to co-star in
New Orleans, a police thriller that uses Hurricane Katrina as its backdrop.
The movie was originally written to take place in Los Angeles, but was later changed to take place in New orleans after the Katrina disaster. It is the story of a cop -- played by De Niro -- who thinks his partner was killed by Katrina, but who later discovers he was murdered.
With his newly assigned partner -- played by 50 Cent -- the pair investigate the murder, taking them on a journey into a world of police corruption.
The production is due to begin filming in February, but De Niro fans will only have to wait until December to get their fix of their favorite actor, as his self-directed spy thriller
The Good Shepherd hits theaters.
